Lot 201 - 2006 Harley-Davidson V-Rod
|Odometer reading||701 miles|

Harley-Davidson, often abbreviated to H.D. or Harley, was founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the first decade of the 20th century and was one of two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression. The company today sells only heavyweight motorcycles with over 750cc engines, designed for cruising on highways; 'Harleys', are noted for the tradition of heavy customisation that gave rise to the chopper style of motorcycle. The Harley-Davidson VRSC (V-Twin Racing Street Custom) family of cruiser motorcycles was introduced in 2001 in a single model called the V-Rod. The V-Rod was developed by H.D. to compete against Japanese and American muscle bikes. The 'V-Rod' made use of the Revolution engine, developed jointly with Porsche that, for the first time in Harley public production history, features overhead cams and liquid cooling. The V-Rod is visually distinct from other Harley-Davidson motorcycles and can be easily identified by the 60-degree V-twin engine and the radiator. Another distinct difference between the V-Rod and all other Harley production motorcycles is the location of the fuel tank, which is located underneath the seat, placing the rider on top of it, rather than the usual frontal placement. The 'tank' in this case is simple dressing, hiding the frame.
This highly collectable, solid wheel, 1130cc Harley-Davidson V-Rod can only be described as stunning in its classic aluminium and silver finish. A two owner bike from new, this incredibly low mileage motorcycle had only covered 88 miles when it had its first MoT. Today, the bike has covered a mere 701 miles, all of which have been fair weather miles and mostly ridden by the current vendor during his two years of ownership.
He replaced the tyres upon purchase as a precautionary measure in 2016. This UK spec bike is in virtually showroom condition, it wants for nothing, rides perfectly and is barely run in. Supplied with a V5C registration document, full service history and an MoT test certificate valid until February 2019. The private plate J60 RVB is included in the sale. This is a rare opportunity to acquire such a low mileage, time-warp superb example of a V-Rod.
