To quote the words of Enzo – “The horse should always pull the cart“

A special launch event at Germany’s historic Nurburgring racing circuit is where the public first saw Ferrari's new flagship GT car. It was July 1996 and this special event marked the return of the traditional front engine V12 configuration for Ferrari. At launch the press and road testers had nothing but praise for the car that was to bear the name of the Ferrari factory and design offices. There wasn’t much to complain about given the fantastic power train, luxurious interior and generous luggage space.

“Yes the engine is mighty, but the chassis is equal. There has never been a super car that’s so exploitable and so rounded in its abilities “ – Evo.

This desirable manual example presents beautifully in its original factory ordered colour of Nero Daytona, a metallic black colour with deep elements of gold flake. The body is straight, dent and scratch free. In our opinion one of the best examples available and one of just two known cars factory ordered in this combination of Nero Daytona on dark green leather with factory option Daytona seats with body coloured stitching and piping together with factory option leather head-lining.

Originally supplied from Italy to Japan in 1999, we believe this example was serviced by the Cornes Ferrari network with stamps in the service booklet at 9,654km and 26,905km. In October 2016 with 35,080km on the clock, specialist QV London performed a full cambelt service for its new and current owner.

The original factory ordered and desirable option 18’ Modular wheels are described as being in flawless condition with the added benefit, as one might expect, of being shod with the correct Pirelli tyres. The history file contains genuine Ferrari book packs including owner's manuals, up-to-date service book and spare keys with fobs, together with the current V5, all import documentation and an MoT certificate valid until October 2018. This 550 Maranello really stands out from the crowd and really needs to be seen to appreciate how stunning it looks in this particular colour combination.
