Lot 238 - 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II
Lot Number | 238 |
Registration | 336 NCG |
Result | Sold - £12,320 |
Boasting further refinements from the initial Shadow I of 1965, the Shadow II was a progressive development of Rolls-Royce's first unitary-type automobile design. With more responsive steering and firmer handling than the earlier versions, the Shadow II and its long wheelbase Wraith equivalent were influenced by development of the ultra-expensive Camargue model and, whilst looking very different on the surface, benefitted from the resulting investment.
This privately registered Silver Shadow II is a rare find presenting, as it does, with just one registered keeper from 1979. Also supplied is a full service history from the supplying main agent, Broughtons of Cheltenham. Supplied to a Mr. Gale of Gloucestershire shortly after its first registration, this delightfully presented Shadow II has covered just 80,000 miles, almost all of which have been in his ownership. The car is reported to drive and present as one would expect of such a well cared-for example. Supplied with aforementioned service history file which is complemented by a 12 months' MoT test certificate, this example starts on the button and is ready to use and enjoy when the occasion permits.
