Lot Number 90
Result Sold - £767

A large scale (95cm long) model of the 1950s Ferrari Arno X1 Hydroplane. These crafts were raced the rich and the playboys of the day and were built at the Cantiere Tomossi boatyard on lake Como. \Inspired by Archille Castoldi who persuaded major motor manufactures  such as Hispano, Bugatti, Maserati, Ferrari and others to supply engines for the crafts. Enzo supplied the 4 1/2 litre, V12 engine as used in the Silverstone Grand Prix winning Ferrari 375. Hand-built using Wood, Resin and plaited parts, this very impressive craft comes with a plaque signed by F1 drivers John Surtees, Kimi Raikkonen, Nigel Mansell and Jody Scheckter fitted to the stand.
