Matra (Mécanique Aviation Traction) had a long and very close relationship with Renault, starting with the world’s first mid engined road car the Matra Djet sports car, Renault powered and full of pioneering and technologically advanced engineering and design. For the next 40 years, Matra provided the inspiration for much of Renault's most avant-garde work, none more so than the Avantime concept, unveiled at the Paris Salon in 1998, pushing the boundaries of the MPV concept into new, sporting luxury lifestyle territory. Available as a 2-litre 'Dynamique' or 3-litre V6 'Privilege' in the UK, both provided an excellent balance of performance and comfort to match the purposeful and distinguished coupé lines.
This top of the range 3.0 litre, V6 Privilege is a particularly rare find. First registered on 1st September 2009, it is finished in Illiade Blue with a silver roof with a cream hide interior. The current owner has had the car since 9th March 2015 and it has been serviced by him every May during his ownership; it has also been serviced by the previous owners. Recently, it has benefitted from two new tyres, new brakes and the exhaust has been replaced with a stainless steel item. Both the interior and paintwork have been tended to. A highly desirable and rare specification Avantime.
