Lot 248 - 1978 Beauford Series II Tourer
Sold - £10,360|
Beauford is a British family run company based in Biddulph, Stoke on Trent. The cars are supplied in kit form and are therefore highly customisable. The first cars were made in 1985 and used a Mini body shell as the passenger compartment later replaced by a glass fibre moulding. Made in the style of a 1930s open tourer, they were available with an optional hard top. Offered in either two or four door versions in either fully assembled or kit form and in total over 1,500 kits have been produced.
This Beauford was built between 1989 and 1991 using reliable Ford Cortina Mk. V running gear. The car is finished in a desirable two-tone colour scheme of brown running boards that feature spare wheels with a two-door cream body. The car has a brown soft top to keep the elements at bay but also boasts a desirable removable hardtop. The cream interior is piped brown and boasts leather seats from BMW. The engine breathes through Nissan 2.6 litre twin carburetors and a handmade twin stainless steel exhaust with power fed to a five-speed manual gearbox. Steering is power assisted and brakes are servo assisted making driving comfortable and relaxing. Offered at no reserve, this stunning car offers vintage style with the practicality of modern motoring.
