For the next 40 years Matra provided the inspiration for much of Renault's most avantgarde work, none more so than the Avantime concept, unveiled at the Paris Salon in 1998, pushing the boundaries of the MPV concept into new, sporting luxury lifestyle territory. Available as a 2-litre 'Dynamique' or 3-litre V6 'Privilege' in the UK, both provided a excellent balance of performance and comfort to match the purposeful and distinguished coupe lines.
This top of the range 3.0 litre, V6 (half in UK were V6 Privilege's) is a particularly rare find - specified from new with a manual six-speed gearbox. Metallic steel grey coachwork beneath the silver roof is complimented by elegant beige leather and light carpet cabin. First registered to Renault UK, a Mr. Loveday, here in Surrey, was the first private registered keeper in 2003 and kept the car until 2016. Unusually, this car comes with a special presentation pack issued by Renault with Limited Edition Owners Certificate Number 097, Avantime print, plaque and concept book all in the original gift-box.
