The MGB, launched in May 1962, was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction, utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional body on chassis construction used on both the earlier MGA and MGT types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. The MGB's performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction, with a 0-60mph time of just over 11 seconds aided by the relatively lightweight of the car. Handling was certainly one of the MGB's strong points.

This MGB Roadster was first registered on 1st January 1965 and is presented in British Racing Green and is complimented by a set of chrome wire wheels. The coachwork presents well and features the early MGB pull handle doors, an optional hardtop as well as a recently replaced soft top and half tonneau. The interior, with its black leather seats and cream piping, certainly invites you in as it smells just right and is in very good order. Where the real benefit of this MG lays is that the engine has been rebuilt, balanced and supercharged. The cylinder capacity has been increased to 1950cc and a Peter Edney Supercharger supplied and fitted. The engine has been mated to a Ford five-speed gearbox, resulting in the increased power becoming more flexible with the extra gearing. The total for these works earlier in 2017 was in excess of £8,400 and is recorded with invoices included within the history file.  The vendor informs us that on a recent trip to the Continent, with a group of larger capacity V8 MGs, that this MG easily kept up and even outperformed those larger siblings. This MG is a UK registered righthand drive example and comes with a history file of invoices/bills, old MoT test certificates, an MGB Tourer and GT Driver's Handbook and, we are informed, will arrive at the sale with a fresh MoT test certificate. With open air motoring combined with good performance, this attractive supercharged MGB is now ready for a lucky new owner to take advantage of during the forthcoming summer months.
