Lot 115 - 1969 Morris Minor 1000
|Odometer reading||87,798 miles|
|Result||Sold - £5,320|
The Morris Minor debuted at the Earls Court Motor Show on 20th September 1948. Designed under the leadership of Alec Issigonis, over 1.3 million examples were manufactured from 1948-1971 and, indeed the 1,000,000 example was sold by Historics in 2015. Initially available as a two-door saloon and convertible, the range was subsequently expanded to include a four-door saloon in 1950 and wood-framed estate. Other changes included a modified dashboard layout with toggle switches, textured steel instrument binnacle and larger convex glove box covers. A different heater completed the interior upgrade whilst the larger, more modern combined front side/indicator light units, common to many BMC vehicles of the time, were fitted to the front wings.
This charming example benefits from a full body restoration over the last eight months with the underside under-sealed and Waxoyled. All new rubber seals were used and the rear brakes and cables have been replaced. Alongside new tyres in each corner, it has been fully serviced and the paintwork has been described by the vendor as "immaculate".
