Lot 143 - 1990 Porsche 944 S2 Convertible
|Odometer reading||108,500 miles|
|Result||Sold - £8,680|
The Porsche 944 was built from 1982 to 1991 on the same platform as the 924. The 944 was intended to last into the 1990s but major revisions planned for a 944 S3 model were eventually rolled into the 968 instead which replaced the 944. The 944 was a successful model and available as both a coupé and cabriolet in naturally aspirated and turbocharged forms. In mid-1985, the Porsche 944 underwent significant changes. These included a new dashboard together with new door panels, embedded radio antenna as well as some mechanical changes. Also included was a larger fuel tank, optional heated and powered seats, Porsche Hi-Fi sound system and revisions in the mounting of the transaxle to reduce noise and vibration.
Presented in Brilliant White with a black leather interior and a black electric hood, this lovely S2 boasts an extensive history file with many maintenance invoices; works include a new clutch, water pump, belt and tensioner all completed within the last 2,000 miles. First registered in March 1990, the owner informs us that the electric pop up headlamps, central locking and electric hood are all in good working order and comes with its original tool kit and hood cover with accompanying bag. Offered in good order and with an MoT test certificate valid until February 2018, this is an opportunity to own one of the very few Porsches from the 1980's/1990's era that has yet to become unaffordable for most.
