Lot 207 - 1998 Bentley Brooklands R Mulliner
|Odometer reading||59,200 miles|
|Estimate||£18,000 - £22,000|
The Bentley Brooklands was introduced in 1992 as a replacement for the Bentley Mulsanne and Bentley Eight models. It was intended as a slightly cheaper alternative to the Bentley Turbo R featuring the same styling, underpinnings of the Rolls-Royce 6.75 litre, V8 engine but without the more powerful model's turbocharger. The Brooklands continued Bentley's design theme which was also used on contemporary Rolls-Royce vehicles throughout the 1980's and early 1990's. The exterior design featured the classic Bentley grille as well as dual headlights with wrap-around parking lights. As with many Bentley and Rolls-Royce vehicles, the Brooklands also featured the trademark descending boot lid and chrome B-pillars. The interior remained relatively unchanged from previous Bentley models but with a more curvaceous design element surrounding the leather-wrapped centre console.
Originally registered on 31st March 1998, this limited edition and highly desirable Brooklands R has been well cared for having had substantial work carried out on the brakes and suspension recently. Finished in the delightful colour combination of silver pearl with slate interior, red piping and red carpets, this is number 74 out of a production run of only 100 units. Fitted with 18" alloy wheels, wing vents, stainless mesh front grille, colour coded bumpers, chrome instrument bezels and red starter button. The 6750cc V8 engine has a light pressure turbo making this Bentley a superb car to drive with comfort and power in abundance. A fantastic history folder accompanies R173 UWF, together with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 4th February 2018. Offered for sale with a very realistic estimate.
