Lot 217 - 2004 Porsche 911/996 Carrera 4S Cabriolet
|Odometer reading||65,569 miles|
|Estimate||£21,000 - £26,000|
On its debut, the 996 featured the most significant changes to the Carrera model since its 1963 introduction, namely the water-cooled engine replacing the previously air-cooled unit. Other changes included a sleeker body with a more steeply raked windshield and a redesigned interior. The performance characteristics remained superb with reliability at its core. This Carrera 4S is the ultimate incarnation of Porsche's 996, it has the more desirable 3.6 litre engine coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox. Being a 'Carrera 4S' it has a permanent four-wheel drive system coupled with the wider turbo body, suspension and brakes. It also benefits from the additional air vents to the front and rear corners.
This good 2004 Porsche 911/996 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, fitted with a six speed, short shift, manual gearbox, has only covered 65,500 miles from new. This is confirmed by the stamps in the service book by Porsche dealers and specialists. This Carrera 4S is finished in silver blue with matching factory hard top, dark blue power soft top and has grey leather interior. It is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in February 2018, a good history file of invoices and a wind deflector. The 911 Cabriolet models have also always been characterised by open virtues, made for civilised cruising on the coastal road, but also for some sporty corner chasing in the mountains.
