The DB9 was the star of the 2003 Frankfurt Motor show where it was unveiled to the public for the very first time. The DB9 was powered by a third generation version of the now familiar 6.0 litre, V12 and had a top speed of 186mph. It was the first of what was to become a long line of production Aston Martins to use VH architecture; using Superformed parts in the chassis and footwell as well as the body panels. The individual die-cast, extruded or stamped aluminium elements of the VH platform are bonded with strong adhesives and self-piercing rivets to make a lightweight but stiff backbone. Aston Martins have always made the interior of their cars to be very special places. Beautifully tailored with the finest of materials, the DB9 uses Bridge of Weir leather, aluminium and wood. The use of wood in the interior was different from previous Aston Martins with customers offered a choice of walnut, mahogany or bamboo.

This beautifully presented, two owner from new, righthand drive DB9 comes to us directly from Aston Martin in Newport Pagnell and has a full main agent service history stamped up to 2013 and used little since, and an MoT test certificate which expires in May 2017. The Aston Martin warranty expired in 2013. The Touchtronic gearbox operates as it should and the options originally specified are impressive. These include a high specification alarm alongside a Linn audio system, European satellite navigation and blue tooth telephony. This Midnight Blue convertible has an Atlantic Blue soft-top with ivory headlining; the seating is Sandstorm in colour with matching stitching and Caspian Blue carpets. Folding mirrors, rear parking sensors and tyre pressure monitoring also add to this modern Aston package. In good order throughout and extremely competitively priced, this example combines both classic Aston Martin styling with the reliability that one has come to expect from this luxury brand.
