This attractive Volvo 1800's life began in 1971 and was manufactured as an E model with Bosche fuel injection. In 1998, an extensive restoration began involving major bodywork repairs and mechanical works. During these works, completed circa 1999, the fuel injection system was replaced with twin SU carburetors and there is evidence that an un-leaded cylinder head conversion was carried out; all of these works being detailed with invoices and photographs with many invoices from one of the UKs leading Volvo specialists. In May 2011, the current owner purchased the Volvo and has used it on a regular basis since. On inspection, it may be seen that it is in good order throughout; the coachwork still attractive in red and testament to the quality of the works carried out nearly 20 years ago. The interior is inviting and also in good order. A separate file of invoices from its current ownership shows that this 1800E has been well cared for and maintained. Several beneficial upgrades include a leak-free full-folding Webasto sunroof that is in very good condition allowing the full benefit when the sun shines, a 123 electronic ignition, upgraded engine and gearbox mountings and a period radio modified to accept MP3 player and connectivity. It also benefits from a service just prior to its last MoT test. The large history file contains all the items previously mentioned plus the original owner's manual, old MoT test certificates and sales literature. Volvo enthusiasts will note that the1800E grill is not fitted but a new owner may be assured that this item, previously replaced by the silver item pictured, is included. The vendor informs us, that this Volvo has proved reliable; in fact, DUG 101K underwent a return trip from London to Scotland, without incident, only this summer.  With an appealing estimate, this good looking example seems even more tempting and with a current MoT test certificate valid until 30th June 2017, only awaits a (perhaps Saintly) lucky new owner to enjoy immediately.

Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Buyers are advised to inspect the car in person or use a professional to carry out this service.
