Lot 349 - 1969 MG B Roadster
|Odometer reading||81,580 miles|
|Result||Sold - £2,352|
The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coupé with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. The MGB was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction, utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MGA and T-types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. The MGB's performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction with a 0-60mph time of just over 11 seconds aided by the relatively light weight of the car.
This MGB is finished in tartan red with a black interior and sits proudly on chrome wire wheels. A tonneau cover, soft top and a hardtop are all supplied with SUX 865H, as is a V5C registration document together with a number of previous MoT's. Our investigations have identified this car as being the subject of a total loss claim in November 1990, we have ascertained this is due to the seats and roof being stolen and the car being classed as an uneconomical repair. We are advised by the vendor she drives well with everything operating as it should. Offered at no reserve.
