Lot 247 - 1951 International L110 Pick-Up
|Odometer reading||57,850 miles|
|Estimate||£15,000 - £17,000|
The International Harvester L-Series was introduced in 1949 as the replacement for the KB-Series and was available with a range of body-styles with electric wipers, radio and clock optional. International would continue to produce the line until 1952 when it was replaced by the R Series. Of the pickup-type bodies, these were available in six and eight foot lengths and it is the shorter of the two offered here today.
Rolling off the production line in 1951, this Pick-up version has had a full life before a full restoration in 1985 where its iconic styling took a more avant-garde turn. The engine has been, as you would expect, fully re-built with the 383ci Stroker engine still the motive force. Power-steering has been added however alongside more modern disc brakes and chrome alloy wheels. The hood and rear deck now operates hydraulically and even the doors are electronically actuated. Presented in excellent condition throughout, this modern take on a classic American workhorse has enormous appeal.
