Lot 227 - 1996 Alfa Romeo 164 3.0 V6 24V
|Odometer reading||67,200 miles|
|Result||Sold - £2,800|
The Alfa Romeo 164's launch represented the beginning of the renaissance of its maker. It was a member of the Type Four project, which resulted in four cars from Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat and Saab, all sharing the same floorpan. Of all the Type Fours, the Pininfarina styled Alfa 164 was by far the prettiest. The glorious Busso three-Litre V6 was used in the 164 and meant that it possessed the most charismatic engine in the class. The sharp Pininfarina styling also helped to differentiate the Alfa Romeo from its cousins and the V6 could be ordered with a Veloce bodykit.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase one of only five Alfa Romeo 164 3.0 V6 Super automatics currently registered in the UK. Presented in black with contrasting blue velour trim, the paint is still shining like it was back in 1996. This example has covered just 67,200 miles from new. 500 miles ago, the vendor had this Alfa Romeo fully serviced by a well known Alfa Romeo specialist. This service included a new cambelt, new front brake discs and pads and a centre exhaust. We are informed the car drives beautifully and sounds just as a V6 Alfa Romeo should. Offered for sale with a new MoT test certificate valid until June 2017, this is a great looking and very driveable Classic Alfa Romeo.
