Lot 309 - 1967 Porsche 912
|Odometer reading||86,089 miles|
|Estimate||£28,000 - £34,000|
Manufactured between 1965 and 1969, the Porsche 912 was very much the entry level Porsche sports car. Although, for some time, considered the poorer relation to the 911, the 912 is very much a serious sports car in its own right. With aerodynamic lines, low weight and an efficient engine the 912 demonstrated good performance, nimble handling and economy, resulting with initial production cars out selling the 911.
This 912 on offer today has recently been imported from California. Its 1.6 flat four engine is stated to have been rebuilt on a 1967 cylinder block with Mahle and an electric fuel pump added to aid reliability. This 912 is superbly presented with gleaming Porsche silver coachwork, Fuchs wheels and an excellent soft grey interior that is finished off by a new set of carpets and a Nardi steering wheel. The front bumper has a replacement aerodynamic unit fitted but does not detract from the quality feel of this motor car. A large history file includes, the US Certificate of Title, an original owner's handbook, workshop manual, Porsche 912 repair and tune up guide, service receipts and invoices from 1976 to 2015. A NOVA certificate also accompanies the car and UK import duties have been paid. Having resided in Huntington Beach, California, this 912 has had four previous keepers and has arrived in very good order. On a recent test, the Porsche was found to be a pleasure to drive. The vendor will ensure that the car arrives at the sale with an MoT test certificate and he is willing to UK register the car on behalf of a new owner if they so wish. This surely is a classic that you may drive with confidence.
