This SSE or Supersport was supplied by Porsche and was based around the Turbo model, it is revered as the ultimate development of the original 911 that first appeared in 1963 prior to being replaced by the more complicated 964 series. These final cars were the most flexible and usable of Butzi Porsche original design with the all-alloy, flat six engine which had been fuel injected since 1971. It received a final enlargement to 3164cc, giving an extremely torquey 231bhp, enough to propel the lithe and slippery coupé to over 150mph with 0-60mph coming up in 5.6 seconds. All 3.2 litre Carreras feature galvanised bodies which, together with Porsche legendary build quality, ensures that these classics are long-lasting.  With this reportedly being one of just 34 righthand drive Coupés ever built, it is a rare beast and the quality of this example can immediately be seen upon inspection.

This beautifully SSE presented in near perfect bronze coachwork with burgundy contrasting leather has been owned by its enthusiast owner for 20 years. In this time, the vendor has lavished the car with everything necessary to ensure it remains in the very best of condition. Despite being garaged for much of its life, the decision was made a few years back to ensure that this rare SSE would continue to be treasured by him and any future owners and a cosmetic overhaul was undertaken. This was no slap-dash cosmetic restoration; new genuine Porsche front wings and tail wing were ordered just to start with and some £14,000 later, the car went for a full re-spray in its original colour before the wheels were fully refurbished to a high standard. The vendor is so pleased with the results; he openly admits that it took pride of place in his garage. It has since only seen the road on high days and holidays to keep it in a condition it has now become accustomed to.

The history file with the car is equally as impressive; countless MoT test documents are accompanied by a comprehensively stamped history file from many specialists and main dealers in the original service booklet. Receipts for all recent works, many carried out by a renowned specialist in West Sussex, are also present. With an MoT test certificate valid until May 2017 and only a reported 34 of these cars being built to this specification, this represents an opportunity to acquire the rarest of variants, a genuine 80's wide-bodied Supersport.
