Lot 205 - 1958 Triumph TR3 Race Specification
|Result||Sold - £11,760|
The Triumph TR3 was built between 1955 and 1957 during which time only 1,286 cars were produced for the home market. According to the TR Register, as of 2002, there remains only 893 registered TR3/3A's on UK roads. The TR3B is an unofficial name given nowadays to the final version of the TR3 which was produced in 1962.
With possible links to racing driver Reg Woodcock, which we can unfortunately not confirm, this TR3 has been heavily modified to be a very capable competitor. Believed to have also been used by Chris Gooding, this original righthand drive from new is supplied with a Heritage Trust certificate and offered at no reserve. Presented in red a new owner could race, restore or simply put the pieces of the puzzle together; this is a very attractive proposition for any bidder.
