Lot 231 - 1993 Jaguar C-Type by Realm
|Estimate||£29,000 - £36,000|
|Result||Sold - £38,360|
The Jaguar XK120C (C-Type) is one of Jaguar's most beautiful and all time great competition Le Mans winning sports cars of the 1950s. Designed purely to win one race, the 1951 Le Mans 24 Hours, the C-Type not only won but set a new lap record in the process. The 1952 Le Mans race proved ultimately unsuccessful for Jaguar however with all three cars entered failing to finish; however, in the 1953 race, the C-Type recorded 1st, 2nd, 4th and 9th positions and was the first motor car with a recorded average of 100mph at Le Mans.
This Jaguar C-Type replica by Realm drives and sounds like a Jaguar should and is based on Jaguar XJ6 running gear. It has only been used sparingly having been recently completed and IVA tested, as you would expect, the beautiful paintwork is in great condition and the interior is as new. The vendor is a classic car enthusiast and has reluctantly decided to sell the car due to lack of suitable storage space. With no known faults, the engine starts immediately and sounds superb when requested; this really is a car with great presence and offers fun in abundance. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a current MoT test certificate, this handsome Jaguar C-Type replica will give you the same sensation and exhilaration as the original car but at a fraction of the cost.
