Founded in 1994, Sebring International based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire produce a range of open-top sports cars including the SX, TMX, MXR, ZX and Exalt. Using fibreglass or metal bodywork, the style is reminiscent of the classic Austin-Healey 3000 sports cars produced between 1959 and 1967. The name derives from the Sebring International Raceway in the USA, at which Austin-Healey cars were very successful.

The vendor of this Sebring MX purchased this example with his son some years ago and being the owner of a large garage he and his son set about improving the car. Presented in metallic blue with black interior, this now represents a car that can be considered far better engineered than when new.

Along with stripping all suspension and brakes, the V8 engine and gearbox were removed and the engine was worked on by STS which resulted in, amongst other things, a conversion to the four barrel Holley. The engine was stripped and heads removed and found to be in good order, but all gaskets and seals were replaced and on recommendation from Real Steel a new up rated distributor was fitted. Due to the increased power, up rated callipers and high performance pads were also installed. It was whilst working with the brakes that the Sebring was found to have been produced with the brake pedal and clutch too close so the vendor had this fabricated so that a reasonable distance existed between the pedals; this idea was so good and fitted so successfully that Sebring adopted this design for all future cars. Suspension was replaced with new Coilovers and the radiator replaced with a high performance unit along with a Kenlowe electric fan. The list of further enhancements are countless and the cost of this build would run in to many more thousands but with the vendor's son all grown up, the car is not being used and the decision has been made to pass it on.

We are assured that any prospective driver would back off before finding the limits of this car's potential; it would certainly be hard to find a more exiting example of the Sebring Healey replica - the question is, are you brave enough to turn the key?
