Lot 252 - 1981 Austin Morris Mini 95L (Pick-up)
|Sold - £11,200
The creation of the Mini branding in 1969 simplified things to Mini Van and Mini Pick-up and in 1978, the commercial vehicles were renamed 'Mini 95' to reflect the 0.95 ton gross weight of the van and pick-up and an 'L' pack was introduced in 1979. The 'L' pack consisted of hound's-tooth cloth centre sections to the seats, front carpets, a passenger sun visor and more sound-proofing.
This particular Pick-up is a one-off. The car was built in the mid-1990s by British Motor Heritage as a special project. Unusual features include wind-up windows, a slightly longer cabin area, SPI fuel injected 1275cc engine and Cooper 'S' brakes.
Finished in Caribbean Blue and having covered just 6,780 miles, this Mini Pick-up is in lovely all round condition and a stunning 'head turner' on the road.
