As with any private car collection, the provenance and history is key. This 1990 Mini Cooper 'S' RSP was acquired by Nick Mason (founding member of rock group, Pink Floyd) in October 1990 as part of his own private collection and for use within his company, Ten Tenths, who supplied vehicles for use in TV commercials, advertising, feature films, promotional and product launches and photo shoots.
Following the purchase of this Mini, the car was sent to John Cooper Garages to have its 'S' Works kit fitted (Conversion Number 031). H878 YJD is sold with a complete file of well documented provenance including detailed correspondence between Nick Mason and John Cooper Garages.
Finished in British Racing Green paintwork with white John Cooper bonnet stripes and Cooper 'S' Works decals, the interior of the car is fitted with black half leather seats with the distinctive red piping and Cooper laurel badge along with a black leather Cooper steering wheel and attractive red carpeting. After an overhaul of the engine bay by Wood & Pickett in 2014, this Mini (or Super Cooper) reportedly drives superbly well.
