Lot 273 - 1993 Lamborghini Diablo VT (four wheel drive)
|Estimate||£98,000 - £120,000|
The Diablo VT was introduced in 1993 and, although the VT differed from the standard Diablo in a number of ways, by far the most notable change was the addition of the all wheel drive which made use of a viscous center differential. This provided the new nomenclature for the car (VT stands forviscous traction). The new drivetrain could direct up to 25% of the torque to the front wheels to aid traction during loss of traction on the rear wheels, thus significantly improving the handling characteristics of the car. Other improvements debuting on the VT included front air intakes below the driving lamps to improve brake cooling, larger intakes in the rear arches, a more ergonomic interior with a revised dashboard, electronically adjustable shock absorbers, four-piston brake calipers, power steering, and minor engine refinements.
We are delighted to offer this righthand drive VT version of the Lamborghini Diablo. Presented in a deep purple wrap, this Diablo still retains its pearlescent white finish beneath, thus offering a choice for the owner. The exterior is complemented by the special white, red and black interior with Lamborghini Bull motifs. This highly specified Lamborghini includes custom front spoiler, clear light package, reversing camera, headlights with Angel Eye adaptation, deep side skirt air intakes, a third rear spoiler brake light, mesh grills to all air intakes, CD/DVD with motorised screen, CD system, central locking, power steering, alarm, engine immobiliser, climate control, traction control and electric windows. A large history file accompanies this Diablo and the many invoices suggest that it has been well cared for, being maintained, as required, by Lamborghini specialists. An MoT test certificate, valid until December 2015, also resides within the file and, importantly, this striking example comes with its cherished registration number. Without question, this stunning Italian Sportscar is one of the world's true supercars and is offered with a very tempting estimate given their relative scarcity in today's market.
