The MGB was launched in May 1962 to replace the MGA. Introduced as a four-cylinder roadster, a coupé with 2+2 seating was added in 1965. The MGB was a relatively modern design at the time of its introduction utilising a monocoque structure instead of the traditional 'body-on-frame' construction used on both the MGA and MGT types. The lightweight design reduced manufacturing costs while adding to overall vehicle strength. Wind-up windows were standard and a comfortable driver's compartment offered plenty of legroom. The MGB's performance was considered brisk at the time of its introduction with a 0-60mph time of just over 11 seconds aided by the relatively light weight of the car. Handling was certainly one of the MGB's strong points.
Originally registered on 11th January 1973, this MGB Roadster is a sound example. The white coachwork is quite tidy as is the interior and the car benefits from having had a new clutch fitted recently. We are advised she drives well with no known faults. This MG is supplied with a V5 registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 12th March 2016; MG's have received some great press coverage of late with the considered opinion they offer an affordable, yet reliable way into classic motoring.
