Lot 314 - 1960 Parilla 175 High Cam Sport Speciale 'circa 1960'
|Odometer reading||32,042 km|
|Estimate||£10,000 - £12,000|
Moto Parilla designed and manufactured many engines over the years, however the most successful and desirable was the 'High Cam' unit. These are by far the most collectable of the Parilla production motorcycles. Originally put into production in 1953 as a 175cc engine, it eventually was upgraded to a 250cc unit. The 175 'High Cam' was raced in the Italian racing class for 'production racers'.
A total of only 591 examples were produce, making this a very rare and collectable motorcycle; until recently this Parilla enjoyed a quiet life as part of a collection in Italy.
