Lot 366 - 2000 Harley-Davidson Custom Chopper
|Estimate||£25,000 - £30,000|
Initially based on a Harley Davidson 1,450cc, this custom-build has incurred bills in excess of £80,000 and frankly- there is very little Harley left. Built by S.P Headon of Reading, the original engine has been replaced with a 2,500cc R&R Cycle motor unit and the changes do not stop there; a 300 Section rear tyre mounted on 18x11" rims with fully adjustable air rear suspension and Baker six-speed gearbox featuring right side belt drive and Spyke high torque starter motor help to put the power to the floor, combined to a Hi-Tech primary belt drive kit with heavy duty hydraulic clutch. Unsurprisingly a one-off exhaust system, which is partially wrapped, has been added to a Monster S&S carburettor with thunder jets and a Hi-Flow air filter combined with Pingel Hi-Flow fuel tap.
The fantastic one off paintwork is complemented by a bespoke fuel tank with flush fitting caps incorporating the rev. counter and engine cylinder temperature gauge. Handlebar controls, featuring hidden clutch and brake master cylinder, can be found up front above an Upside-down front end 23" front wheel, fixed to the one off bespoke frame with aluminium forward mounted footrests.
Choppers can divide opinion but this one offered with such a build sheet is mightily impressive and with the opportunity of saving over half the cost of the build that was undertaken irrespective of cost, is also mightily tempting!
