Founded in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the first decade of the 20th century, Harley-Davidson was one of two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression. Harley-Davidson also survived a period of poor quality control and competition from Japanese manufacturers. Harley-Davidson motorcycles, or 'Harleys', are noted for the tradition of heavy customisation that gave rise to the chopper style of motorcycle. Except for the modern VRSC model family, current Harley-Davidson motorcycles reflect the styles of classic Harley designs. In Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the softail frame is designed to look like the hardtail bikes of the past, whilst still offering the comfort of rear suspension. The shock absorbers are positioned along the axis of the motorcycle, tucked away under the transmission.

This 1993 Harley Davidson FXST Softail was imported to the UK in 2003 when it was restored and rebuilt to this magnificent custom motorcycle. The original 1340cc Evo FXR standard engine, with stock primary gearing and electric start was mounted into a Zodiac North Sea Chopper frame, which has a high neck and an elegant rack. The wheels are CCI polished aluminium billet Revtec and shod with Avon Venom tyres. The unique aluminium fuel tank was made by Parker Fabrication with hidden mounts and pop-up fuel cap. The mud guards are also unique to this bike, being a slim line front and a double skinned iron cross rear which acts as a hugger. Paintwork by Beej of Organic Image, he used a black base with 'Candy' over the top before adding his trademark True Fire paint to the tank, fenders and frame. After completion, the bike was shown at the Pro Custom Show at Newark, displayed on the Parker Fabrication stand and was awarded the prize for best paintwork. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a number of old MoT test certificates, this is a bike to be displayed or enjoyed on the road.
