The ZG1000 is a sport touring motorcycle, manufactured between 1986 and 2006 by Kawasaki. It has a six speed, four cylinder, liquid-cooled engine with shaft drive and can reach speeds of over 120mph. It offers nimble handling and, with its 28 litres fuel capacity, is suited to cross-country two-up (or three with a side-car) touring. It was tested by the magazine Motorcyclist at the time which concluding that it was 'the most practical, useful and competent motorcycle made'.
This example has been owned by the vendor for last ten years and used little in that time. The bike itself is reported to be a Special Edition version, up-rated to 104bhp. Coupled to the side is a Watsonian-Squire Grand Prix side car. The combination has been undertaken correctly as the bike now has Earles forks and a steering damper to cope with the added weight. The sidecar retains the traditional octagonal nose shape dating from the 1920′s with the traditional polished aluminium beading on the nose section and cast luggage rails at the rear with upholstered seating for the passenger. It is supplied with a UK registration document and a full one year MoT test certificate.
