The sight of rival manufacturers reaping the rewards of a successful circuit racing program prompted Ford to renew its alliance with engine builder Cosworth to create the eponymous Sierra. Assembly of the minimum 5,000 units required for Group A homologation commenced in June 1986 at the company's Genk plant in Belgium. The RS Cosworth combined the standard 1,993cc Pinto engine's cylinder block with a forged steel crankshaft and connecting rods- the first time the latter combination had been seen in a production Ford engine.
Originally registered on 1st August 1989, this Sierra RS Cosworth presents in first class condition and is supplied with a superb history file. We are advised she drives in a manner that any RS driver would expect and it is recommended any interested parties should take the opportunity to view the car in person. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a fresh MoT test certificate, together with a good history folder. Considering that Sierra RS Cosworths are highly sought after, an example as good as this is sure to create interest.
