The 4973cc, R129 Mercedes-Benz SL500 carried on the tradition of the fast and reliable grand touring convertible from Mercedes-Benz. Born out of the earlier 500SL models, the new SL500 featured many new and innovative ideas for the time such as controlled electronic damping, automatically expanding roll-over bar and a more modern multi-link rear axle. A fully operating electric hood, windows, door mirrors and seats made this model easy and comfortable to operate. With powerful engines, stopping power was aided by anti-locking braking for added reassurance.
We are pleased to present this low mileage, left hand drive 1994 Mercedes-Benz SL500 in very smart condition. It is offered with the optional factory hardtop as well as a soft top that has, we are informed, never been used on the open road. This SL is resplendent in red with contrasting cream leather, was imported from Japan in 2014 and is now UK registered and has an MoT test certificate valid until September 2015. It not only has the wonderful five litre, V8 for power as well as the automatic gearbox offering luxury motoring but also the advantage of several factory options that include; factory hardtop, wind deflector and car cover. It is presented in excellent condition throughout particularly the coachwork and interior and has recently undergone a full service. The original handbooks are present as well as a spare set of keys. With its factory options, excellent condition, recent service and low estimate, this very genuine Mercedes-Benz SL500 is surely too tempting to miss.
