Lot 245 - 1981 Ferrari 208GTB
|Odometer reading||63,696 km|
|Estimate||£34,000 - £40,000|
The Ferrari 208 GTB is little known outside of its native Italy as it was built specifically for the home market where taxes on cars with engines larger than two litres were prohibitively expensive. It is identical in every respect to the 308 series but fitted with a smaller 1,990cc all-alloy, V8 engine, transversely mid-mounted and returning a respectable performance. Only 167 normally aspirated examples were manufactured, of which this is one.
Recently imported into the UK, this Ferrari has had little use in the last eight years and is currently undergoing re-commissioning including a full engine rebuild and service. A NOVA certificate is available should any purchaser wish to register the car in the UK. This rare example of a 208GTB is lefthand drive and has only had three owners from new. Appearing almost identical to its bigger brother and carrying an equal amount of prestige, this 208GTB benefits from having low ownership, low mileage and is finished in Ferrari's traditional colour combination of Rossa Corsa with black trim.
