The W114 and W115 models were introduced in 1968 and manufactured through until 1976, distinguished in the marketplace by nameplates designating their engine sizes. The car was designed by French designer Paul Bracq who was chief designer at Mercedes-Benz for models from 1957 through to 1967, a period that included models such as the Grosser Mercedes-Benz 600. The W114/W115 received a facelift in 1973 with a lower bonnet-line, lower and broader grill, a single front bumper and lower placement of the headlamps together with removal of the quarter windows in the front doors and larger side mirrors. The interior received inertia reel belts and a new padded steering wheel.

This one owner from new manual 200 model was originally registered on 1st August 1975 and presents in great all-round condition. Having been featured in the Mercedes-Benz Enthusiast magazine and in very original condition, we are advised by the vendor that it also starts and drives in the manner to be expected of such a well built car. Of the 87,609 examples of this model manufactured by Mercedes-Benz, it is not known how many exist today although a good W115 will always attract attention at any classic car show. This fine example is finished in white with cloth trim with the interior described as spotless all for the need for some new trim on the driver's seat, furthermore there are no signs of cracking on the dashboard. Having benefited from a main dealer service history for much of its life and having been dry stored for the past seven years until recently re-commissioned, this W115 is a rare find to say the least. Supplied with a V5 registration document together with a current MoT test certificate, LGK 220P represents a great opportunity to enter the classic car market and offered at no reserve this could prove to be a real bargain.
