The Jaguar XJS was a luxury car produced from 1975 through to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was a competent grand tourer and actually more aerodynamic than the E-Type. From 1988, a special XJR-S version of the V12, 5.3-litre car was produced by Jaguar Sport, a separate company owned jointly by Jaguar and TWR. This car had a distinctive body kit, special alloy wheels and suspension together with a number of handling improvements. After September 1989 the change was made to a special six litre engine with a Zytec engine management system 314hp, later 329hp. This was different from the standard six litre engine used in the late XJS models.
This 1990 Jaguar XJR-S is fitted with the special six litre engine and has only recently been put back onto the road after being stored for two year. It has covered 90,000 miles from new which can be substantiated a complete history of MoT test certificates. Recently repainted in the original black with a doe skin leather interior, this car has just been checked through and had an oil change service. This XJR-S is supplied with a V5C registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in March 2015, the service book pack containing the original handbook and service book and a file containing invoices and old MoT test certificates which go back to 1994. These rare six litre Jaguars are fast becoming regarded as a modern day classic.
