Lot 269 - 1995 Ferrari 348 Spider
|Odometer reading||31,631 km|
|Estimate||£35,000 - £40,000|
The Ferrari 348 is a mid-engined, rear-wheel-drive V8 powered two-seat sports car replacing the 328 in 1989 and continuing until 1995. Badged 348TB for the coupé (Berlinetta) and 348TS (Spider) for the targa versions, it features a naturally aspirated 3.4 litre version of the quad-cam, four valve per cylinder engine which was originally found in the 288GTO. As with its predecessors, the model number was derived from this configuration with the first two digits being the displacement and the third being the number of cylinders.
This delightful lefthand drive Ferrari is in absolutely pristine condition and is a credit to the very fastidious vendor. The red paintwork is faultless and the black interior in excellent order other than the faintest of mark on the drivers' seat bolster. The engine started immediately when requested and the 348 spider performed perfectly on our test drive with no rattles or noises. The all important cambelts were changed on 20th February 2014 by a recognised Ferrari specialist, other work at that time resulted in an invoice total of £5,210.65. Having covered a mere 19,654 miles, this Ferrari has certainly been lovingly cared for and as a result certainly does not have the appearance of a car that is nearly 20 years old. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a current MoT test certificate, together with a comprehensive history file, it is thought that although the vendor has owned this for the last ten years, it has never been used in wet or even damp conditions. Certainly one of the best we have seen for a long time.
