Lot 345 - 1985 Jaguar XJS V12 HE Coupé
|Odometer reading||71,000 miles|
|Result||Sold - £4,704|
The Jaguar XJS was a luxury grand tourer produced from 1975 through to 1996 and replaced the E-Type. Although it never had quite the same sporting image, the XJS was a competent grand tourer and actually more aerodynamic than the E-Type. The last XJS was produced on 4th April 1996; at that stage 115,413 had been produced during a 21 year production life. The specifications of the XJS compared well with both Italian cars; it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph. From July 1981, the XJS received the new High-Efficiency engine for much better economy; as a by-product, power was increased to 295bhp.
This XJS in HE specification boasting the fabulous V12 engine is offered in black coachwork with contrasting beige leather interior. Having covered just 71,000 miles since 1985, this Jaguar has also remarkably been with the same owner its entire life and has been garaged since the day of purchase. A very good standard example, this coupé was serviced by main dealers with accompanying documentation for part of its life before a local specialist took over and has kept this motorcar in the great condition we find it today. Present is a V5 registration document, valid road fund license and valid MoT test certificate until July 2015 and offered at no reserve this is a genuine opportunity to obtain a privately owned and very well cared for example.
