The important part of this Yamaha is the two-stroke, single cylinder engine. With its rotary disc valve induction, four forward gears, it ran on a mixture of 20:1 mix of petrol and oil and formed the backbone of Yamaha 'Fizzy' days. A UK specification model but with this early motor fitted, it represented a leap forward in affordable motoring.
This extremely early and extremely rare example of Yamaha's YZ50 has not been touched in many years. Presented in completely original condition, it can either be used as it stands or form the focus of a straight forward restoration project. This UK specification YZ utilises the same engine as the hugely popular but later Yamaha FS1-E or 'Fizzy'. This mechanically important incarnation is fully up and running, comes complete with a valid MoT test certificate and (with the addition of road tax) is fully road legal.
