Lot 113 - 12953 Gollner Trials
|Estimate||£2,000 - £3,000|
|Result||Sold - £2,464|
The Gollner Ossa frames were commissioned by Bob Gollner, a motorcycle dealer in Denmead, near Portsmouth. He had over 29 years riding experience and was also a Kawasaki dealer. Kawasaki offered Bob Gollner all the unsold bikes at a very good price and so the project was born. Bob Gollner was well known for the development of his own bikes and was very successful in the late 60's. The Gollner KT was thus based on a vast fund of experience and knowledge and these machines achieved incredible success. The Gollner Kawasaki was not different, in that it was based on the original KT 250cc production machine developed by the legendary 'Ace' Don Smith. Originally, the Gollner machines were painted yellow and soon earned the nickname of the 'yellow perils'.
This 'Yellow Peril' with a nickel plated frame built by Bob Golner and is in good restored condition. A great combination of the 250cc Kawasaki by Don Smith and the Gollner Ossa frame, this trials bike is a must for any collector or enthusiast. Not currently registered, the new owner will need to complete the necessary documentation with the DVLA if desired, but offered at such an attractive estimate, this is certainly one bike to keep your eye on.
