In 1961, the FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclime)
announced that the World Championship for the following year would
include a new category: the 50cm³. For the Japanese manufacturers
who were starting to invade the European market, this development
offered an opportunity which could not be missed. Immediately the
Honda factory introduced its first 50cm³ privateer bike, the CR110
in contrast to the RC110. Over 50 years later, this model is
still astounding. The engine is a single four-stroke DOHC and
pinion distribution controlling the four valves and coupled to a
five- speed gearbox with multi disk dry clutch.
Presented in good order, this CR110 Special has twin instruments and swept-back handlebars in keeping with its sporting aspirations. Restored and extremely affordable, this CR110 sounds like fun without breaking the bank.
