The Honda CB550 produced from 1974 to 1978 was a development of the earlier CB500 model, the first models (CB550K) having four exhaust pipes and silencers. A second model the 550F followed soon after. This model carried a four into one exhaust, less chrome, and was called the "super sport". These bikes were known for their agility, reliability and ease of use and fitted midway into Honda's Super sport range.
This 1976 F1 model has been the subject of a full custom build in the American "chopper style", the original bike being completely stripped and rebuilt using an Uncle Bunt rigid frame from the legendry custom motor-cycle builder John Reed in Oxfordshire. The hard tail frame number UB76 was originally built to take the 550 parts as a donor bike, so everything fits in the correct place and with the right amount of rake to take the extended front forks. Finished in black with a subtle custom paint finish, this bike has that wonderful 'easy rider' stance, performs well and is very easy to ride.
