The Montesa Cota 250cc motorcycle was manufactured in Spain from 1967 to 2004. The Cota two-stroke machine was similar in design to the off-road models. The first production models were marked 11M, named 250 and were built in small numbers. In 1968, the first production series model encoded 21M was introduced. Indeed, such was the futuristic design, that a copy is exhibited at the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York.
This fine example was acquired in its current, restored condition by the vendor some years ago. Sitting on new professional Pirelli MT43 tyres and complete with the green log book, it has spent almost its entire life amongst five owners in Hereford. It still has the original front-wheel hub-mounted speedometer reading just 170 miles.
