Lot 101 - 1963 13093 T20 Tiger Cub Trials
|Chassis Number||T20 96224|
|Engine Number||T20 65887|
|Estimate||£1,700 - £2,200|
The 199cc T20 Tiger Cub was introduced in March 1954. Priced at £127 (a little over half the cost of a new Triumph 6T Thunderbird), it supplemented (and then superseded) the 149cc T15 Triumph Terrier; the company's first post-war single. The T20 Tiger Cub brief was clear and straightforward. It was to be a small bike with big pretensions. Or, if you prefer, big aspirations. A bike that filled a gap at the low end of the range. A bike that capitalised on the appeal of Triumph's established muscle machines (the 498cc Speed Twin and Tiger 100 and 649cc Thunderbird), but with lightweight, commuter-and even boy racer-appeal.
This Triumph Tiger Cub is in original condition and is described by the vendor to be in excellent running condition and a motorcycle that has never been altered or modified. Supplied in the original colour scheme of black frame with red and silver fuel tank. This is an opportunity to purchase one of the most popular bikes from the 1950's / 60's.
