The Bentley Arnage was launched in 1998, a large luxury saloon car that replaced the previous Bentley Turbo saloon. Built by Bentley Motors in Crewe, from 1998 to 2009, the Arnage and its Rolls-Royce sibling named the Silver Seraph, were introduced in the Spring of 1998 and were the first entirely new designs for the two marques since 1980 when the Silver Spirit and Mulsanne models were introduced. The new Arnage was to be powered by a BMW V8 engine with Cosworth-engineered twin-turbo chargers and was designated the 'Arnage Green Label' and the Seraph was to employ a BMW V12 engine. The 'Arnage Red Label' was launched in October 1999 and the engine reverted back to Bentley power using the traditional V8 engine with a displacement of 6750cc.
This outstanding Bentley was a one owner example until January 2014, although the car did have a change of registered keeper from the private owner into his company name. The late Lord Ballyedmond, reported to be Northern Irelands richest man, used this Arnage longwheel base as his personal chauffeur driven car. In true Bentley tradition the Arnage is a splendid vehicle, however, the work carried out on the car by Mulliner makes this a magnificent example. The list of additional features at point of manufacture include, chrome radiator shell, satellite navigation, second telephone to rear armrest, picnic tables, fluted style seats and reduced rear window for greater privacy. Originally supplied by Charles Hurst Ltd the service history is exceptional, with the car having been maintained by Bentley main dealers for the first 100,000, miles and has recently had a service by a recognised specialist. Finished in Black sapphire with Tangier trim, this beautiful example is available at a fraction of the cost when new and is best summed by the phrase 'luxury motoring at its best'.
