Lot 447 - 1998 BMW 318 Convertible
|Odometer reading||84,300 miles|
|Result||Sold - £3,024|
The BMW E36 was the third generation of the 3 Series compact executive cars produced by BMW. The successor to the E30 was eventually replaced by the E46 3 Series in 1998. The biggest change technically - apart from that sleek new styling - was the fitment of a new independent rear suspension set-up, known as the Z-axle. It was a multilink set-up, which helped maintain the 3-Series' position as the market sector's best handling car. The E36 experienced enormous success in the market and laid strong foundations for the 3 series to come. Also known as the "dolphin shape", the E36 was named in Car and Driver Magazine's "10 Best Cars" list.
This lovely 318 E36 Convertible, presented in Boston green metallic with light green hood & complimentary tan leather interior, has been cared for by just 1 lady owner in its 16 year life and with a service history offering nine stamped intervals, five from BMW dealer Dick Lovett and four from a specialist local, to its owner it is clearly a loved and cared for example.
The specifications include an electric folding hood, rear heated leather seats and a removable wind deflector. It is offered with an MOT test certificate until 28 October 2014, the original handbooks and V5 registration document. Cheap summer fun and surely an appreciating asset?
