The Ferrari 550 Maranello is a two-seat grand tourer manufactured from 1996 and is powered by a front-engined V12. It shared its platform and 5474cc engine with the 456 but was positioned as the company's high-end model. The car used a transaxle layout with the six-speed manual gearbox located at the back, in-line with the driven wheels. It featured a luxurious and spacious interior and, unusually for a Ferrari, the boot could accommodate a set of golf clubs. The 550 has a tubular steel frame chassis with light aluminium bodywork. Power steering is variable assist and, to be expected of a car with this performance, disc brakes are fitted all round. Acceleration is an impressive 4.2 seconds 0 to 60mph and top speed a reported 199mph. In total, 3083 Ferrari 550's were produced.
Finished in Grigio Tatanio with Bordeaux leather and fitted with Daytona style seats, this stunning 550 Maranello has only covered 14,000 miles from new. Ferrari three-piece split rims further enhance the aesthetics of an already beautiful and iconic design. Also benefitting from electric seats and xenon headlamps, this lefthand drive Ferrari is supplied with a V5 registration document, two keys and a complete set of handbooks incorporating five main dealer service stamps. A much cherished example of an exquisite sports car.
