AMG is synonymous with the Mercedes-Benz performance division, Fords with RS Cosworth badges on the boot can always be relied upon to supply thrills on demand and Overfinch has been connected to Range Rover (and Land Rover) since the 1970's offering something a little more 'exuberant' to the world's best four wheel drive car ever built. Overfinch has an enviable history of achievement and groundbreaking innovation. Since launch, they have remained dedicated to the Land Rover marque with an aim that has always been to sympathetically enhance with a continuous research and development programme, top class production facilities and designs that actually improve the vehicle as opposed to just altering it from standard.
This early example was bought from a specialist Land Rover dealer just over a year ago and has been cherished ever since. Prior to this however, some significant expenditure has taken place as detailed in the history file. Works included the complete removal and replacement of both inner and outer sills, the removal and replacement of inner front wing, the fabrication and fitting of a stainless steel exhaust (and more recently the fitting of a custom tubular exhaust manifold) and the replacement of the front differential. Additionally, the complete injection system was stripped down and the inlet manifold prepared for the fitment of a new four-barrel Weber 500 CFM carburettor and Edelbrock air filter. Total bill - £6794.40; meaning someone else really has done the hard work for you. On top of this are the Overfinch performance upgrades including the improved Chevrolet five-litre V8 pushing out over 300bhp aided by a new Mallory electronic distributer all built and confirmed with a plaque signed by Robert Bengoro. The wheels are standard colour-coded Range Rover units with Maxxis Marauder rubber to the front and Goodyear Eagles to the rear, a tow-bar package has been installed and, internally, a Parrot stereo with Bluetooth and MP3 (with immobiliser) provides hands free connectivity. The leather interior is in good order with all electronic seat adjustments operating correctly. This 'hard-dash' five-door model runs extremely well, comes with an MoT test certificate valid until August 2014 and benefits hugely from the time and expenditure lavished upon it. Overfinch, enhancing a legend since 1975.
