Fiats first started producing cars in 1899 and have some of the most interesting history of any manufacturer with a reputation for style and grace as opposed to comfort and reliability.
The 1100 is a compact car produced from 1937 to 1969. In 1953, the 1100 was completely redesigned as a compact four-door saloon with modern monocoque bodywork and integrated front lights, the new model was called the 1100/103 after its project number. Between 1956 and 1960, the Fiat 1100 underwent several slight changes in fittings and details, e.g. newly designed grille, more rectangular profile and eventually small fin-tails with spear-shaped backlights.
This Fiat 1100 unusually is a righthand drive example and is in, we are advised, 'original condition'. The blue paintwork shows no sign of rust and the interior can only be described as excellent. Forming part of a collection in sunnier climates than the UK, this Fiat has been well protected from poor weather and, as such, this 55 year old 1100 presents in fine all-round condition. We are advised by the vendor that she drives as good as she looks. Supplied with the necessary documentation to register the car in the UK and a full years MoT test certificate, these delightful cars are rare and always attract attention when appearing at classic car shows and rallies.
