Lot 240 - 1964 BSA Lightning
|Estimate||£4,500 - £6,500|
Dispatched from the works on the16th October 1964, this 650cc Lightning was a USA export model that stayed in the States until 1998 when it returned to the UK and was registered as 'EFG 443B'. Since then it has had five keepers in total; the last owner having spent some £1,500 on maintenance in the last year, which included general servicing, fixing the charging system and the fitting of a Boyer electric ignition system. In addition, the cylinder head has just had a rebuild and two new Amal Mk. I concentric carburettors have been fitted. A matching number example, it has a dating certificate to authenticate plus bills for the recent work, a new MoT test certificate and the UK V5C logbook. In generally good cosmetic condition, the body work is in fine order with no dents in the tank. It starts easily and runs well with plenty of power and no smoke. This is a fine example in good running order with its original street scrambler styling intact.
