The Corniche was manufactured by Rolls Royce between 1971 and 1996 in both coupé and convertible forms. Assembled and finished by Mulliner Park Ward, London, the Corniche was a continuation of the 1965 Silver Shadow and 1967 drop head coupé and, in 1971, the Corniche name was applied. It was also sold as a Bentley and from 1984 would be known as a Continental with the Bentley label. Power was supplied by the Rolls Royce V8 configured 6.7 litre engine with drive through a three speed automatic transmission.

The Rolls Royce Corniche offered today was initially sold in the UK by HA Fox to a Mrs Khashoggi in right hand drive form but was later shipped to the USA. In 1996 the car was repatriated into the UK, where it was UK registered with all taxes paid. Since repatriation, this Rolls Royce has been lightly re-commissioned and has also had further works carried out by Rolls Royce specialists Colnebrook and Chelsea Workshop; these works include standard maintenance and an air conditioning service. Within the history file resides all the MoT test certificates since 1996 verifying the mileage since then.

On purchase in 2000, the vendor tells us that he was attracted to the car, not only by the condition, but also because of the extra chrome work on the 1974 model and the classic smell of the leather and triple black colour scheme; namely black coachwork, black leather interior and the black Everflex power hood. The vendor also informs us that the car drives very well displaying tight steering and suspension dynamics and believes the low mileage to be genuine. The car has been kept in de-humidified conditions in the current ownership with. The Corniche comes complete with the original build sheet and leather hard bound owner's manual.

With prices on the rise of late, this handsome Corniche represents an ideal opportunity to enter Rolls Royce ownership offering excellent value, given the estimate.
